Bon Iver - Beth/Rest (Stripped)
Justin Vernon received critical acclaim for Bon Iver's self-titled sophomore album, released back in June. A much fuller, encompassing sound compared to 2008's For Emma Forever Ago, incorporating a full band with a horns section et al.
One song on the album however was panned for sounding over-distorted and 'cheesy' - the final song on the record Beth/Rest. Perhaps in an attempt to redeem himself Vernon recorded a solo piano rendition of the song exclusively for NPR's World Cafe earlier this month. It's also a chance for listeners to hear Vernon's voice minus the signature falsetto.
